2011 Pachuca – Mexico
In 2011, he turned his passion into his profession when he started working for the Pachuca Club as Director of the Physical Training Department, a position that allowed him to develop his abilities to the maximum, thanks in no small part to the trust that Marco Garcés placed in him. He was at that time a 26-year-old with a lot of training but little experience. Since then, and with a lot of work and good advice, he has gotten to where he is today.
For seven years he was in charge of designing and planning everything related to the physical preparation, injury recovery and nutrition of this First Division Mexican Club; this allowed him to acquire a wealth of experience in the field of physical preparation. During this time, the club achieved a Liga Mx championship, a Liga Mx runner-up, an International Concacaf championship and third place in the Club World Cup. While achieving these titles, Agustín simultaneously arranged the sale of numerous players to European soccer teams.
2018 Alajuelense Sports League – Costa Rica
In 2018, Agustín was hired as Director of Soccer at Liga Deportiva Alajuelense, with the aim of establishing a model for recruiting and developing players. A year later, he was entrusted with the challenging mission, as Sports Director in the year of its centenary, of restructuring the entire club from its very foundation. For the last four years, the institution (the club?) has achieved economic stability, has sold players to Europe, North America and Asia, and has been the main supplier of players to the Costa Rican national teams. It has achieved two national sub-championships, a national championship in 2020, and in 2021, the championship of Central America, achieving its first Concacaf League title. Agustín, as well, has lead in the design and development of the club’s very own High Performance Center, placing Liga Deportiva Alajuelense at the level of infrastructure of European clubs.
